When I was young, my mother used to talk all the time about how I wanted her *to tell me a mitzi.* There’s even a children’s book called Tell me a Mitzi. A mitzvah is the Hebrew word for a good deed. So, telling a child a mitzi is a story that ends with a moral, kind of like a children’s fairy tale. That’s kind of off topic, except I have always liked that story so I thought I would share……. But, I digress (as I notice I do often, so sorry! Or maybe you enjoy it, who knows) …..

The other night, the hubbs told me a story from when he was a child. It was a story I had never heard before. I loved it so much. Not necessarily because he told me the story, but because we have been together almost fifteen years. It was a story I had never heard before and it reminded me that whether we are together 5 minutes, 5 years, or 15 years we will come across things we don’t know about each other. It’s part of the beauty of a forever relationship. We are in it through the hard and the easy parts of our relationship.

We spend a lot of time laughing and having fun. We spend a little time fighting, although as our relationship progresses this happens less and less. We have been through difficult times and we have been through times that I wasn’t sure if we would make it through. I have a tattoo on my leg that has a dual Libra sign (we’re both Libra’s) surrounding (quietly) by my birthdate and his birthdate. No one would know that the tattoo was a nod to our relationship and that’s how I like it!

In any case, I got it because I know we’re in this for the long haul. Bottom line: There isn’t anyone I would rather go home to at the end of the day. There isn’t anyone I would rather tell stories about what happened at work to, and he feels the same way about me. The fact that after almost 15 years we still have things to learn about each other excites me. It means that I’m going to be learning little and new things about him forever.

When your SO rushes home to tell you this funny thing that happens to them today, remember they rushed to you! And laugh with them.
